Emergency braking with ABS and brake fade
During emergency braking with ABS operating, press the brake pedal firmly and continuously; pulsation at the pedal is normal and is not a reason to release it. Engine braking is strongest in first gear, but a lower gear must be selected only at a suitable speed. Prolonged and repeated use of the service brakes can overheat them and reduce braking efficiency, known as brake fade.
