Reducing unnecessary vehicle noise

To prevent excessive noise while driving, have the exhaust silencer, or muffler, checked and kept in good working order. Avoid excessive use of the horn and other audible warning devices. Harsh braking also creates unnecessary noise and should be avoided unless it is genuinely necessary for safety.
