Positioning the portable warning triangle

The triangle must warn traffic approaching the actual obstruction, so place it in the same lane as the stopped vehicle or fallen load. It must stand on the carriageway at least one metre in from its outer edge, where it remains stable and clearly visible. Do not place it in the adjacent left lane or use the centre line as the reference point.
