Stopping, parking, traffic-imposed halts and moving off

Places where even a brief stop is prohibited

These locations require the traffic path to remain completely clear. Do not stop on or near a level crossing, on rail or tram tracks, beside them where a rail vehicle would be obstructed, or in a tunnel unless specific signs allow stopping. A brief duration does not make stopping on a bend lawful. Do distinguish stopping from parking: at a driveway entrance, parking is prohibited because it blocks access, but a momentary stop is not automatically prohibited if it causes no obstruction and no other rule forbids it.
