Duties of the driver being overtaken

Maintain a steady, appropriate course and do not increase speed in a way that prolongs or frustrates the manoeuvre. On a road with one lane in each direction, keep as close as possible to the right-hand edge. A very slow vehicle whose presence is causing a queue should pull over and stop at the first suitable place to allow traffic to pass. There is no general duty to slow down in every overtake, select a low gear or use hazard warning lights.
