Parking on main non-urban roads and separate carriageways

On a main non-urban road, ordinary parking is allowed only in properly designated and signed areas; merely pulling over alongside the carriageway is not sufficient. A carriageway is also not the same as a lane. On a road with four separate carriageways, the central carriageways are not automatically reserved for overtaking; drivers overtake by using a permitted lane within the carriageway on which they are travelling.
