A pedestrian crossing away from a marked crossing
A driver's priority never permits endangering a pedestrian. If a pedestrian is crossing away from a marked crossing and does not yield, slow down immediately and be prepared to stop. A brief use of the horn is appropriate only to avert an immediate danger, not to demand priority or frighten the pedestrian.
