Traffic rules, manoeuvres and driving conduct
Give way
The inverted triangle is the GIVE WAY sign. Slow down, assess traffic from both directions and yield to road users on the road with priority; stop only when necessary to give way safely. It may be installed on a secondary road or on an acceleration lane used to join another road. For the theory test, distinguish a sign that gives priority, one that requires you to give way, an advance warning of that requirement, and STOP, which always requires a complete halt.
