Emergency on the tracks at a level crossing

If the barriers start to close while the vehicle is still on the tracks, remain calm and leave the railway immediately; if necessary, it is safer to break through a barrier than remain on the line. After a breakdown, try without delay to push or tow the vehicle clear. If removal is impossible, everyone must move to safety, alert railway staff and take steps to warn approaching trains. A reckless manoeuvre at a level crossing endangers not only the vehicle occupants but also people on the train.
