Limits for motorcycles, motor caravans and cars with appendage trailers or ordinary trailers

On motorways, a car with a carrello appendice (an Italian appendage trailer treated as part of the vehicle) normally retains the 130 km/h limit. A car towing an ordinary trailer, including a caravan or boat trailer, is limited to 80 km/h on motorways and 70 km/h on non-urban roads. With only a carrello appendice, a car may ordinarily travel at 110 km/h on main non-urban roads. For motorcycles, the ordinary maxima are 130 km/h on motorways, 110 km/h on main non-urban roads and 90 km/h on secondary non-urban roads. Motor caravans up to 3.5 tonnes follow the ordinary car limits and may therefore travel at up to 130 km/h on a motorway unless a lower signed or condition-dependent limit applies.
