Ineffective or unbalanced braking

Air or vapour in a hydraulic circuit, badly worn friction linings, unevenly worn discs or drums, and brakes overheated by repeated use can lengthen stopping distance. Different tyre pressures on the same axle and an excessive or badly distributed load can also impair stability. If the brakes act unevenly, wheels on one side may lock first and the vehicle may pull or skid towards that side; uneven tread wear may also develop over time. These signs require inspection and maintenance, not compensation through the steering wheel.
