Brake servo and heat produced by braking
Light vehicles are often equipped with a brake servo that reduces the pedal effort required from the driver. Friction at the brakes converts the vehicle's kinetic energy into heat, and the friction linings are among the components most exposed to high temperatures. The hydraulic-fluid level and the braking system still require periodic checks.
