Criminal and civil liability for a road collision
A person who is both criminally and civilly liable for a road collision is subject to the penalties provided by criminal law and must compensate the damage caused. If Road Traffic Code rules were also broken, the relevant traffic penalties apply as well. These different forms of responsibility can coexist but do not mean that every case automatically results in arrest or licence revocation.
