Purpose of first aid
The purpose of first aid is to help keep an injured person alive through simple, immediate measures and to care for them as well as possible until professional medical help arrives. The first aider should call for help, avoid unnecessary actions and, as far as possible, prevent the injured person from suffering further harm.
