A vehicle stuck in snow or sand

If a vehicle is stuck in snow or sand and cannot move, place a suitable material that increases friction, such as pieces of wood or a vehicle mat, beneath the spinning driven wheel. If moving off in first gear causes excessive wheelspin, select a higher gear and apply the accelerator gently so that less torque reaches the wheels.
