Child restraint systems for children under three

Children under three years of age may not travel in a car that is not equipped with a suitable child restraint system. A child carried on the front passenger seat must use an approved restraint suitable for the child's size. A rear-facing seat may be placed there only after the passenger airbag has been deactivated; if the airbag cannot be deactivated, that seat must not be installed there. Child restraint systems must be approved, suitable for the child and kept fully serviceable.
