The same red warning may also illuminate when the parking brake is applied, depending on the vehicle. If it remains on after release or illuminates while driving, stop safely and have the braking system checked before continuing if braking may be impaired. It is not a general service reminder, statutory inspection notice, electronic-control-unit symbol or marker for the fire extinguisher.
