Dip headlights whenever main beam could dazzle
The duty protects everyone, including oncoming drivers, drivers ahead, pedestrians and users travelling on nearby or intersecting roads. Dip before the beam causes discomfort or loss of vision. The reason is safety, not battery conservation, and the duty is not limited by the type of vehicle ahead.
