Main-beam headlights
Straight horizontal rays distinguish main beam from the downward-sloping rays of dipped headlights. When the blue tell-tale is illuminated, main beam is active. It is not the green dipped-headlight symbol, the rear fog-light symbol or a reminder to turn off position lights. Use main beam only where permitted and dip it whenever another road user could be dazzled.
