Do not stop to offer a lift after a motorway breakdown
An unauthorised stop creates a second hazard and offering a lift on motorway property is prohibited. The stranded motorist should use the prescribed assistance services. Do not reverse after passing, attempt an improvised tow or stop in the live roadway. In an immediate life-threatening situation, contact emergency services and follow their instructions without creating further danger.
