Roundabout priority and other special cases

The roundabout sign prescribes the direction around the central island but does not by itself assign priority. Where GIVE WAY is placed at the entrance, drivers entering must yield to vehicles already circulating, which approach from the left. Without a specific priority sign, the general priority-to-the-right rule applies. Slow down and observe other users before entering. Reversing and indiscriminate overtaking on either side are not permitted within the ring. Two mapped questions concern separate cases. On a steep road where two vehicles cannot pass, the downhill driver normally stops and reverses if necessary. At GIVE WAY, if stopping is required, stop at the transverse line formed by white triangles; unlike STOP, no halt is required when it is unnecessary.
