Three-lane approach to a junction

The vehicle is in the centre lane of a three-lane approach. Near the junction, the lane lines become continuous, so the driver may not cross them at the last moment to reach the lane needed for a turn. In the situation shown, the vehicle cannot turn right from the centre lane. To turn left, select in good time the lane that permits that direction, normally the leftmost lane unless signs or markings state otherwise; do not assume that the centre lane is used. Check the vehicle's position, continuous lines and any arrows or signs.
