Turning left with the centre of the junction on your right

The dotted paths illustrate the ordinary road position for these left turns. Each vehicle approaches the central area and completes the turn while leaving the centre of the junction on its right, avoiding an improper diagonal cut. A different layout, central island or road markings may prescribe another path. The figure concerns trajectory; priority and signalling must still be assessed separately.
