Traffic rules, manoeuvres and driving conduct

Road position for animals and vehicles

A person leading or driving animals on the road must keep them under control and as close as possible to the right-hand edge. For vehicles, road position changes only when a rule, manoeuvre or sign requires it: a left-hand bend on a one-way road does not require driving close to the left edge; a driver preparing to turn left does not remain at the right edge; and trolleybuses are not normally required to travel close to the left edge. Heavy traffic also does not make reserved or emergency lanes available to ordinary traffic. A motorcyclist may not use the emergency lane merely to pass a queue.
