Traffic rules, manoeuvres and driving conduct

A high-performance vehicle is still subject to every road rule

Vehicle performance never exempts a driver from traffic law or the duty of care. Speed limits still apply, the normal priority-to-the-right rule applies at unsigned junctions, and the driver must avoid endangering other road users. Before changing lanes, check the mirrors and then signal the manoeuvre; before turning right, keep as close as practicable to the right-hand edge. Drivers must not always use the centre of the road, the absence of a no-overtaking sign does not make every overtake safe, and neither main-beam headlights nor the horn should be used routinely in built-up areas.
