Trailers, roadworks and parallel traffic lanes

A car towing a horse trailer is limited to 80 km/h on motorways, while a car towing a motorcycle trailer is limited to 70 km/h on secondary non-urban roads. The type of load does not change the lower limits applying to vehicle-and-trailer combinations. Speed must be adapted particularly carefully near roadworks or a warning triangle marking a stationary vehicle. In parallel queues or channelled traffic, the right-hand queue may move faster than the left-hand queue. This relative flow does not give the right-hand lane a higher limit and does not authorise improper manoeuvres.
