General limits and signed 150 km/h motorway sections

Unless signs provide otherwise, the limits are 50 km/h in built-up areas, 110 km/h on main non-urban roads and 130 km/h on motorways. A signed 70 km/h limit may be introduced on suitable urban roads. Only motorway sections meeting the statutory requirements may be authorised and signed for 150 km/h; this is not the limit on every motorway. In precipitation, the maximum falls to 90 km/h on main non-urban roads, including in hail, and to 110 km/h on motorways. Mopeds remain limited to 45 km/h, while wheeled agricultural and construction machines are limited to 40 km/h.
