Crossing of shunting tracks

The triangular exclamation-mark sign warns of an unspecified danger, while the supplementary panel identifies that danger as tracks used for railway shunting. Rail vehicles may move across the road slowly but have considerable mass, length and stopping distance. Drivers should slow down, look carefully along the tracks and be ready to stop before crossing. This must not be confused with a tram crossing, an ordinary level crossing identified by St Andrew's crosses or a prohibition on vehicle traffic.
