Complementary, temporary and roadworks signs
Traffic cone for temporary works or diversions
A red-and-white traffic cone is a portable temporary device. It may delimit brief roadworks, a temporary diversion, the scene of a collision or a provisional separation of opposing traffic streams. It does not indicate reserved parking and is not the normal boundary device for long-duration works. Its presence is unrelated to heavy snowfall, and it does not by itself separate a carriageway from a permanent cycle track.
