Signals for scheduled public-transport vehicles

The image shows special traffic signals for scheduled public-transport vehicles carrying passengers. Instead of the ordinary red-amber-green sequence, they use illuminated symbols: a horizontal white bar at the top, an amber triangle in the centre and a vertical white bar at the bottom. In the driving-theory questions, the illuminated upper horizontal bar requires the public-transport vehicles concerned to stop; the illuminated lower vertical bar permits them to proceed. These are not pedestrian signals, ferry-landing signals or level-crossing signals, and they are not reserved solely for rail vehicles such as trams or trains. The amber triangle does not warn of roadworks and does not concern motorcycles.
