Road markings and obstacle markings
Pedestrian crossing markings
These parallel white stripes across the carriageway mark a pedestrian crossing, where pedestrians cross and have priority. The marking may be found both inside and outside built-up areas, including small towns. It does not indicate a traffic island; its meaning is specifically a pedestrian crossing. Approach at a speed that allows you to give way and stop.
