Continuous centre line before a hazardous point

The figure shows a continuous centre line on the side of the vehicle travelling in the arrow's direction. It may appear before a bend, junction or the uphill side of a hump, where visibility or conflict risk makes crossing the centre unsafe. The vehicle must not cross it. It is not generally a one-way-road marking and does not automatically occur after every downhill side of a hump or at every level crossing. A U-turn across it is prohibited.
