Road markings and obstacle markings

Double continuous centre line

These two adjacent continuous white lines lie along the centre of a two-way carriageway. They separate opposing traffic and must not be crossed. A U-turn and driving astride the lines are prohibited. Overtaking is only possible when it does not require crossing them and every other condition permits the manoeuvre. The markings separate traffic directions; they are not edge lines or paid-parking markings.
