Traffic merging from the left with an acceleration lane

This triangular warning sign indicates a lane merging into the main carriageway from the left, normally through an acceleration lane. It is used on one-way carriageways and roads with priority. Watch for vehicles entering the traffic flow from the left. A GIVE WAY sign is placed on the joining road, so traffic already on the main carriageway retains priority. The sign warns of the merging hazard; it does not require you to give way to the joining traffic.
