Warning signs

Dip

This triangular sign warns of a dip, where a downhill section is followed by an uphill section. The sudden change in road level can affect vehicle control and the low point may flood during heavy rain. For the theory test, remember that the triangle warns of a hazard ahead: reduce speed and pay closer attention, but do not infer a prohibition or mandatory action that the sign does not show. A supplementary plate may specify the distance, length or conditions of the hazard.
