Motorcycle drive-chain inspection and maintenance
For safe riding, inspect the drive chain periodically for wear, correct tension and lubrication. The chain transfers power from the gearbox output sprocket to the rear-wheel sprocket. Lack of lubrication or excessive wear can cause failure and create a serious safety hazard; worn sprockets may need replacement together with the chain.
