First aid for burns
If flames remain on a burned casualty, extinguish them promptly by smothering them, for example with a suitable blanket. Do not pull away clothing that has adhered to burned skin. Where possible, cool the burn with cool clean water to reduce pain and limit further heat damage; do not use ice or apply alcohol.
