Requirements for driving a motor vehicle on public roads

It is prohibited to drive a motor vehicle on a public road without the category of driving licence required for that vehicle. As a rule, a motor vehicle must also be registered before it may circulate on public roads. These requirements concern the driver's entitlement and the vehicle's legal registration, not who is named on the registration certificate or whether the manufacturer's warranty is still valid.
