Stopping, parking, traffic-imposed halts and moving off
Emergency stop
An emergency stop is forced by an exceptional event that makes continued travel impossible or unsafe, such as a mechanical failure or sudden illness. It is distinct from a traffic-imposed halt and from a brief voluntary stop to let someone board or alight. Move the vehicle out of danger where possible and warn other traffic as required.
