Stopping, parking, traffic-imposed halts and moving off
Parking in built-up areas
In a built-up area with a raised pavement, park parallel to the right-hand edge and in the direction of travel unless markings prescribe another arrangement. Where there is no raised pavement, leave at least one metre for pedestrians rather than blocking their route. Outside built-up areas, place the vehicle off the carriageway wherever possible, but never on a cycle track.
