Stopping, parking, traffic-imposed halts and moving off

No parking

The NO PARKING sign prohibits leaving the vehicle parked but still permits a brief stop for an immediate need, provided the driver remains ready to move and causes no danger or obstruction. On urban roads its standard validity is 08:00-20:00 unless a supplementary plate states otherwise; if not repeated, it normally ceases after the first junction. Plates may mark the beginning, continuation or end of the restriction. Read every supplementary plate for vehicle categories, times and the regulated section. Do not confuse NO PARKING with NO STOPPING, which also prohibits a fermata.
