Collision risks when overtaking on a motorway

Before moving into an overtaking lane, check mirrors and blind spots for faster traffic approaching from behind. Maintain enough distance from vehicles ahead and anticipate that one of them may suddenly move into the same lane. Signal early, move only when a safe gap exists and avoid abrupt lane changes.
