Overtaking near a crest on one-way or multi-lane roads

The danger at a crest is entering the path of unseen oncoming traffic. On a two-lane, two-way road this normally prohibits overtaking where visibility is insufficient. The manoeuvre may instead be possible on a one-way carriageway or where at least two lanes serve your direction and opposing traffic is not entered. Road markings, signs, space and visibility within your own lanes must still permit it.
