Joining the flow of traffic
Assess the position, distance, speed and direction of every relevant road user, signal in good time and give way to traffic already moving on the road. Join only when a sufficient gap is available. This duty applies even when no GIVE WAY sign is present and includes vulnerable users such as cyclists.
