Preparing to approach a junction

Observe the signs, signals and traffic and be ready to yield as required. Select the lane for your intended direction before the final approach and signal a turn early enough to inform other road users, avoiding rushed overtaking or last-minute lane changes. A rider of a two-wheeled vehicle must queue behind the vehicles already waiting rather than pass between them. Enter the junction only if there is enough space beyond it to continue and clear the conflict area, even when a signal would otherwise allow you to proceed. Caution does not mean always going before traffic from the right, overtaking on the left before turning right, or sounding the horn merely because the junction is in a built-up area.
