Traffic rules, manoeuvres and driving conduct

Two lanes in each direction

Where several lanes serve the same direction, heavy traffic may proceed in parallel streams. This does not remove the normal lane-use rules: remain in the appropriate lane through a bend and change lane only for a permitted reason and when safe. Riders of two-wheeled mopeds must not use the left lane merely because traffic is congested. Parallel streams describe traffic conditions; they do not make every lane or every lane change lawful for every vehicle.
