Supplementary panels
Supplementary panels for one or more hairpin bends
The supplementary panels use text to specify the nature or number of very tight, potentially dangerous hairpin bends ahead. Panel A warns of a hairpin bend; panel B warns of a sequence of three hairpin bends. The figure 3 is not the number of lanes, vehicles allowed through simultaneously, motorway interchanges or kilometres to a U-turn flyover. The panel normally accompanies the appropriate bend warning sign.
