The main warning sign indicates a steep ascent with a 10% gradient: the black slope rises from left to right. The supplementary panel warns that goods vehicles may lose speed on the climb and cause traffic to slow. Drivers should moderate speed, maintain an adequate following distance and be prepared to catch up with very slow heavy vehicles. The combination is not a general overtaking or collision sign. Read the direction of the gradient on the main sign first, then the specific hazard shown by the lower panel.
