Slow goods vehicles on an uphill section

The supplementary panel depicts a goods vehicle losing speed on an uphill road. It warns drivers that they may catch slow-moving lorries or other heavy vehicles on the ascent and should be prepared for a rapid reduction in closing distance. The panel does not indicate a road closed after a rear-end collision, prohibit overtaking goods vehicles, appear at ferry landing stages or instruct drivers to reduce following distance. Any overtaking manoeuvre remains subject to visibility, road markings and the ordinary rules.
