Slippery road because of ice

The main sign warns of a slippery road, and the snowflake panel specifies ice as the likely cause. Ice may form when temperatures are low, especially on bridges, shaded sections and untreated roads, causing a severe loss of tyre grip. This is not general information about a ski resort and does not by itself require snow chains. Drivers should reduce speed, increase following distance and avoid sudden steering, braking or acceleration.
